I have been teaching journaling + art journaling for nearly 25 years...both online + at in person workshops. I am passionate about being creative in my own daily life + encouraging YOU to do the same.
***************************************************** The name Sacred Feather came to me this summer while on my many walks in nature. I love my Creator and being outside is my Church. Its where I have the best conversations with Spirit.
My daughter told me once that every time you find a feather it means you are on the right path. I believe every time you find a feather, its the Spirits way of speaking to us.
Before each walk I would set an intention...I would say to Spirit,
"This walk I pray will teach me about loving more."
"I pray for guidance on today's walk regarding my Dreams."
I would do this before every walk then just begin walking. As I put one foot in front of the other, I let my Heart lead where I would go. I spoke to Spirit sometimes continuously, hoping to get an answer.
The feathers began showing up almost immediately after I was walking with a purpose, a question, guidance.
Somedays I would find only one, but that became rare. Soon the feathers would be everywhere. As I picked each one up it was as if Spirit was leading me. I would be walking, almost crying out in my mind asking for help, then look down and there was a feather in my path.
On one particular day I was so full of anxiety + sorrow. Things hadn't gone our way for what seemed years. I NEEDED reassurance that everything was going to work in the end. That we WERE gonna see relief SOON.
This walk had been FILLED with feathers. I would pick one up then look ahead and pick up another. Sure there wouldn't be anymore feathers to find, I stood up straight, face looking forward, grateful for all the love that had been given to me that day. Without thought at all, I turned my head slightly to the right, my eyes down. I spotted something too big to be a feather standing straight up in the grass. The closer I got I realized it WAS a feather. A HUGE feather. It was an Owl's feather and it was BEAUTIFUL.
I picked it up with tears in my eyes. I had just asked Spirit for the BIGGEST gift and there was my answer.
I have at lease a dozen feather stories I plan on sharing in a small book soon. I believe Spirit speaks to us. We just gotta listen.
